Master: Yuma Fukada
Yuma Fukada started singing folk songs at the age of three. He then began playing the minyo shamisen and won the Yasukibushi Shamisen Competition in 2005.
In 2011, he won the Tsugaru-Shamisen International Aomori Competition in the individual competition and in 2015 he won the first prize in the accompanying performance.
Currently, there are various places in Japan teaching and performing solo and in collaboration with others.
Group Leader: Sahoko Sakai
Sahoko has been learning the shamisen since 2006 and qualified as a shamisen and song teacher at the Japan Folk Song Society in 2019. She is also involved in stage composition and organisation. She teaches in Zurich and Bern and also works on collaborative arrangements between the shamisen and other instruments.
Satomi has been learning the shamisen since 2006 and qualified as a shamisen an associate teacher at the Japan Folk Song Society in 2019.
Satomi de Lignie
Naomi has been learning the shamisen since 2009 and obtained an associate teacher qualification in shamisen from the Japan Folk Song Society in 2018. On stage, she plays the synthesiser.
